In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day 2024, observed on September 10th, the Ministry of Health will be conducting an advanced training session for media professionals, focused on enhancing responsible reporting practices and adherence to established guidelines for suicide prevention.

This comprehensive workshop will feature insightful presentations from both the Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), emphasizing the pivotal role of the media in shaping public perceptions of mental health and suicide. Furthermore, the session will include a collaborative forum, fostering in-depth discussions among participants to encourage the exchange of expertise and the adoption of best practices in the sensitive and ethical reporting of such matters.
